Our products
Our Top Renewable Energy Products
Solar PV Systems
Solar panels use power generated from sunlight to bring you free electricity and a more comfortable, energy-efficient home or business. Our high-quality systems, plus our expert installation team,
can help you make significant and long-term savings on your energy bills
– with financial incentives and government grants to make the switch.
EV Chargers
Our Electric Vehicle (EV) Home Chargers are designed to support clean living, well into the future. By 2030, the majority of cars in Ireland will be electric anyway – and the Irish government has pledged to ban fossil-fuelled cars by 2030. So enjoy the quiet comfort of an electric vehicle while being kind to the environment…and to your wallet.
Inverters
In a Solar PV system, inverters are the brains of the operation. Their job is to convert DC electricity from the sun into usable AC electricity, so you can then power key appliances throughout your home, farm or business. With 4 main types of inverters to choose from, we can help you pick the right fit: for your premises and your energy needs.
Diverters
Does most of your electricity bill come from heating water? Well, a diverter can redirect excess solar power to a specific electrical appliance: like an immersion or electric heater. Meaning you can enjoy lower bills by using renewable energy to heat water instead! Our quality range of diverters are eco-smart, long-lasting and self-sufficient.
Batteries
Solar batteries are useful for storing excess electricity, which you can draw upon when you need it most (like during rainy, overcast weather) rather than relying on the grid. They may not be for everyone – as they’re typically used for larger Solar PV systems – so our team can help you decide whether installing a battery would be a good move.
Annual Health Check
Ok, it’s more a service than a product – but we’re listing it here because it’s so important! Because even though our team can offer ongoing technical and maintenance support when you need it, we’d still recommend cleaning your panels occasionally and booking an annual health check…to keep them performing at their best, for as long as possible.
Who we work with
We use double-glass, N-type and glass-glass monocrystalline panels from top brands like JA Solar, Longi and Jinko. Great for those with limited roof space, our high-efficiency panels can yield 20–23% of the sun’s energy
Features & Benefits:
Seamless & Subtle

Our goal is for your panels to blend easily into your roof: so instead of spoiling your home’s design, they’ll simply and subtly add to its comfort. Meanwhile, our experienced installers will keep the process quick ‘n’ clean.
More Power
With an average yield of 20–23% (depending on location, number of panels and the system you choose), you can cover a greater portion of your energy consumption – and power more appliances – than with other solar panel types.
Improve BER
Solar panels mean less reliance on the grid: and a self-sufficient home can improve both its Building Energy Rating (BER), and its value. The prospect of lower energy bills could be a major atttraction for potential buyers, should you ever wish to sell.
Long-Term Savings
With a typical lifespan of 25–35 years, and a performance warranty of 25 years, our best-in-industry solar panels can continue saving you money from your electricity bills (on average, up to €1,100 on your annual domestic energy bill) long into the future.
Maintenance Support
Your solar panels won’t need much maintenance – just occasional cleaning and a recommended annual health check. Whatever system you choose, we’ll help to keep it performing at its best, with a dedicated technical and maintenance support service.
Once you’ve said goodbye to petrol stations, you can save even more with your very own renewable energy station…installed outside your own home or business.Â
Our car chargers include Zappi – from leading brand MyEnergi – featuring 7kW or 22kW power and 3 charging modes for extra convenience. We’ll typically install a home charging point on the external wall of your house, so your car can charge up from your household electricity supply.
Features & Benefits:
More Control
Domestic electric vehicle chargers mean you can charge your cars from home, whenever you want. (Combined with a Solar PV system, you can enjoy lower electricity bills when you do!)Â
Financial Incentives
As a homeowner, you can access an SEAI grant of up to €600 for your EV charger installations (we can help you with your application). Meanwhile, businesses can benefit from tax incentives for electric company cars, and receive grants for installing commercial EV chargers.Â
Supporting Net Zero
As part of Ireland’s bid to reach Net Zero by 2050, new regulations require public buildings to have EV chargers – making it easier than ever for Ireland to drive electric. We can help you meet this rising need for EV chargers, so you can keep your vehicle topped up and ready to go
Increased Flexibility
With 3 charging modes, our Zappi chargers can be combined with solar energy to help you lower your electricity bills further. One mode means you can charge your car based on your household power consumption, while another keeps it topped up, no matter what. The beauty of this EV charger lies in its flexibility.
A crucial part of your solar PV system, an inverter turns the sun’s power into electricity you can use.Â
There are 4 main types of inverters you can choose from, depending on your home or business’ size and energy requirements. And athough the technology is always growing (including options with AI operating systems), we’ll do the research and base our recommendations on our decade’s worth of industry experience – to find you an inverter that’ll fit your needs now, and long into the future.
Our range of long-lasting inverters include both string and hybrid inverters from top brands like Solis and Hoymiles. Depending on the type you choose, you can enjoy benefits including an uninterrupted power supply, peak-shaving capabilities, multiple working modes (to maximise self-consumption) and the ability to control and upgrade their function remotely. Good to know.
4 Types of Inverters
String Inverters
These inverters connect multiple solar panels in a series to form a string (hence the name!) Then they convert the combined DC power into AC power (that’s your free electricity).
Micro Inverters
Compact and lightweight micro inverters are attached to individual solar panels (unlike a string inverter, which usually connects to a wall, away from your panels).
AC-Coupled Battery Charge Controllers
Part of a battery energy storage system (BESS), this setup involves 2 inverters: one for your solar panels and one for your battery.
Hybrid Inverters
Combining the capacities of a solar inverter and a battery inverter in one handy unit, hybrid inverters are useful for managing power from a few difference sources (your panels, your solar battery and the grid).
Hot water diverters – also known as solar panel controllers – are a great way to redirect excess electricity and use it for something that typically means higher energy bills: heating water.Â
Our range of hot water diverters, including top brands like Eddi, divert surplus power from solar PV generation to one or two heating appliances of your choice.Â
Features & Benefits
Free Water & Space Heating
Great to bear in mind during cooler months: any time you need to heat your rooms or your water, you’re drawing on energy from sunlight, rather than relying on expensive fossil fuels.
No Wasted Energy
If you don’t use up all of your solar energy, you can send it directly to a designated appliance (or two), like an immersion heater or an electric heater – and avoid unused energy going back to the grid.
Lower Energy Bills
You won’t be spending a large portion of your bills on heating water – instead, you’ll be drawing on renewable energy for your hot showers in the morning. Woohoo!Â
Although a solar battery won’t suit every household or business, if you’re choosing a larger Solar PV system and want even more control of your energy use – i.e., to direct your power to certain times of the day – you might like to invest in a solar battery, too.
Caldor Solar works with top battery manufacturers to bring you the most efficient, long-lasting products – so you can squeeze even more sunlight out of your panels.
Features & Benefits
High Performance
Our batteries include 90% DoD capacity and over 4,500 cycles. (Psst…if you’re not sure what that means, read this first!)
Subtle & Sleek
As some complaints about batteries include their size or bulk, we select those with the most compact and lightweight design for your premises.
Easy Integration
As we’ll be the ones supplying and installing your Solar PV system, we’ll make sure all of its individual components work together seamlessly. That’s why our batteries are compatible with the inverters we offer.
Why we stand out…
What Makes Our Products Different?
For the past 10 years, Caldor Solar have been supplying and installing renewable energy solutions from the best manufacturers around. We know what it takes to install a system that’s built to last – giving you more control over your energy use and a more comfortable, energy-efficient place to live and work.
5 ways we do things differently…
We’re not distracted by shiny things.
While some of our competitors switch brands as often as a pair of shoes to promote the latest, shiniest product, we err on the side of caution.Â
We’re still forward-thinking – but we also know that brand-new technologies come with their glitches. And we want to make sure that emerging models can be tested over time.
So even though you may ask us about a snazzy new offering in the world of solar, we may not be able to endorse it with confidence because it’s untested in the market. If that’s the case, we’ll tell you why, and propose a more trusted alternative.
We’re in it for the long haul.
The solar panel industry is expanding fast in Ireland right now. Which is great – as people are questioning their reliance on fossil fuels and moving towards a more sustainable future.Â
Unfortunately, that’s meant a ballooning of the companies in the industry too, with around 500+ players in the space. And maybe only 10 of these will be around in 10 or 20 years, when you’ll likely be needing repair work or a replacement of your panels.Â
We know the value of creating a long-term relationship from the outset – we’re not a fit-and-forget kind of provider.
We handle ALL of your questions.
It happens too often. Someone installs solar panels on their home, then there’s an issue with the system and they try to contact their installer – only to be told it’s a manufacturing problem and the customer needs to get in touch with the brand directly.
Not so with Caldor Solar’s customers. In the unlikely case that something goes wrong, we’ll be the ones talking to the manufacturer on your behalf – and we’ll be the ones who work to resolve any issues to get your system back on track.
We learn from experience.
We were one of the first solar panel installers in Ireland. We’ve seen how the industry can change, how new technologies emerge and fade, and what that means for homes and businesses who want to invest in solar.
We’ve handled a variety of issues across the country, and we’ve been learning all the way: so we can troubleshoot efficiently, and often prevent such issues in the first place.
We also know that working with trusted, tested and established brands makes all the difference. That’s why we don’t supply the cheapest in class (and why our prices mightn’t be the lowest on the market, either). It’s because everything we do is based on high quality, durability, longevity and credibility.
Most of our products include a 25-year warranty. It’s a more long-term way of thinking – but if you’re investing in solar panels that’ll be around for decades, that’s what you’ll want! Not just shiny tech and no after-sale service but reliable, tested solutions with ongoing support, should you ever need it.
We offer tailored solutions.
Solar panels shouldn’t take a cookie-cutter approach. Your home or business might be very different to the place down the street: not just its design, but how much energy you use and the way in which you use it.
We offer a free assessment to figure out the best system for your individual needs. Then we provide a recommendation and quote based on what you’ve told us. Quick example: while other installers often recommend solar panels without batteries (because they’re easier for that company to maintain), that’s not always in the customer’s best interests.
Having been in this industry for so long has shown us, a personalised approach means more efficient systems and happier customers, long after installation. We also bring our own experiences to the table – as the brands we sell are the ones we use in our own homes.
